As for ‘Timeless Themes’， I have not been so hopelessly enamored with a Kaffe patchwork book since the first one- ‘Glorious Patchwork’。Get yourself a jumbo carton of blackberries and your favorite beverage， jump into some comfy clothes， （like I did） and get ready to savor a most delicious and substantial book。As the title suggests， the projects in this book are a thoughtful curation of Kaffe’s most iconic themes throughout his career- ie: stripes， bold florals， concentric squares， vases， etc。 （I As for ‘Timeless Themes’， I have not been so hopelessly enamored with a Kaffe patchwork book since the first one- ‘Glorious Patchwork’。Get yourself a jumbo carton of blackberries and your favorite beverage， jump into some comfy clothes， （like I did） and get ready to savor a most delicious and substantial book。As the title suggests， the projects in this book are a thoughtful curation of Kaffe’s most iconic themes throughout his career- ie: stripes， bold florals， concentric squares， vases， etc。 （I don’t want to be a spoiler- there are more。） For that reason， the book feels like a broad stroked retrospective of projects。 The projects are the cream of the crop， in my opinion。 If you are to have just one book of his， make it this one。 （I don’t really mean that-get them all。）The photography？ Well， it’s absolutely luscious。 The inspiration， onsite and closeup photos are something to just get completely lost in。 The entire book design （I can’t resist commenting on this as a graphic designer） is rich， weighty， saturated loveliness。 The aesthetic is just the best it’s ever been， in my opinion。 From the end papers to the paper quality， to the resolution of the photos， to the pattern instructions， this book is a thing of beauty in and of itself。 Oh， and the pattern designs- The pattern instructions have just gotten better and better over the years， and these are just at the pinnacle。 The graphics are the epitome of self explanatory， with just enough information to make the patterns easy to construct， yet let one’s imagination fly。 If there is someone you know who hasn’t been introduced to Kaffe （do they exist？） this book is the perfect gift for them。 They will surely fall in love as well。 。。。more
